Define "ugly"... In "Men in Black", Vincent D'Onofrio's character is called by Will Smith "Ugly before, etc," And then again, he was absolutely fabulous - coming from a dude - as William Fisk in that Marvel series, whatever it was.

Mostly but not always. But there's also a funny mutation where a successful lead actor becomes not-ugly, by the change of public perceptions. Humphrey Bogart would be a prime example..
