Someone once asked me why I laugh hysterically like a psychopath whenever I watch horror movies... The real question is why do you not?

I remember my ex used to get super pissed at me saying how it wasn't funny but you know I could say the same thing when we watched movies he actually considered funny so...
I mean what are you talking about people dying brutally is absolutely comical. < Disclaimer: this is sarcasm. I shouldn't have to say that but you know it's hard for people to detect sarcasm on the internet.
No, but seriously I really can't help it. It's like a reflex and I've done it ever since I was really young and the reason behind it is that I was pretty much made to watch R rated horror movies as a kid (long story as to why that I really don't want to get into). I remember being as young as four years old watching some graphic horror movie about werewolves where you seen people get torn apart. It used to scare me but then my dad pointed out how fake it was and how it was more funny than scary and to prove that he would laugh really loud during violent horror movie scenes so I wouldn't be scared so I started to believe it to be funny rather than scary and laugh as well so now it's just like a natural reaction since I associate those scenes with humor instead of terror.
Obviously there's a difference between fake movie scene deaths and real life deaths. I don't react that way when it comes to actual people dying because I'm not entirely bat shiz crazy or deranged.
