anyone watch the first episode of lost in space

half the episode is about the girl getting stuck in frozen water, I am shocked at how nobody in the production team protested to how that whole scene makes no sense. everyone is standing around with no hat yet its so cold that a deep lake freezes in seconds. then it starts to rain as they are digging in the ice to free the girl and the girl says" oh no, the temperature is dropping " and as it rains the water from the rain, which is now filling up the whole they made, starts to instantly freeze ?!?! I think the people who wrote this have never been in temperatures below -25C. if it was cold enough to make water freeze that fast, with no hats or goggles their ears would gets frozen and need to be amputated, their nose and face would suffer freeze burns, their eyes would hurt, they would get headaches from freezing forehead, their nostrils would freeze shut and they would probably suffer lung damage but its also raining?!?! for a Canadian and a skier, this obviously makes no sense, I was like " what ?!?!"
