I find it sad that they are planning on remaking old British sitcoms, do you agree?

Things like Are You Being Served and Dad's Army are being lined up. For one thing they were of their time and it is a very different world now and besides, the actors made those characters along with the writers. They cannot be recreated now. It is doomed to failure in my opinion.

i'm not exactly against remakes. some are excellent, the new planet of the apes series is excellant. It is still original as a prequel and i am excited to see where they go. I have loved the additions to star trek and star wars. But then there is the matrix whose additional franchise movies were some of the wort i have ever seen especially given the fact that the original was outstanding. and then we have the recent incarnation of independance day a movie that should have been left on the cutting room floor.

also remember when they tried a sort of remake of are you being served where they were working at a hotel. same actors but it missed the mark badly.

We have a slew of remake on the fall us tv season, i hope they rise up and actually raise the bar on the originals.
