What's your favorite book to movie adaptation? Was it true to the original?

Lord of the Rings, for me. So well done. Seems like its very difficult to do well, though.

This Dark Tower adaptation looks like a stinker. What a shame it's a fantastic series.

Tom Clancy, Sum of all fears was well done.. Clancy had artistic control..
I think the lord of the rings movie series was awful!

of course I'm very critical, considering that I've read it dozens of times..

@SW-User I've read through all Tolkien's works a few times. What was your complaint with the LotR movies? I didn't like how they had Arwen do Gandalf's river magic to stop the ring wraiths, but you know they wanted a bit more female presence in the movie

@DanielChristensen Arwen was given way too much time, besides that, I didn't like that they traded dialogue between characters, added scenes that weren't in the book.. ommitting important scenes..
it wasn't completely bad.. but i wasn't impressed with the story.. the scenes and action was well done though..

The hobbit movie was nothing but a waste of time and money..
they filmed a totally different story..

@SW-User I really dislike how far they strayed in The Hobbit movies. A dwarf elf romance? Just, why? Does there have to be a goddamn romance? I see your point.

@DanielChristensen The Hobbit IMO was a disaster
and I barely read any of the book.
I DID however have Jackon's LOTR movies as a template...So, you know 😏😉😀.
So I skipped part 2 bc pt one was such drivel.
Watched pt 3 and was disappointed.
My overall take: It was not a GOOD movie.

And it could have been: IF he has followed his original recipe as per LOTR
AND book script and plot.
WHAT AN IDIOT.

@LunadelobosIAMTHEDRAGON There were two big errors I think. They stretched the plot to 3 movies, just to make more money and Jackson got cocky with his LotR success.

@LunadelobosIAMTHEDRAGON There is no Azog, no Tauriel or Legolas in The Hobbit. Every deviation from the book was basically shit though I liked Azog and most did not
