I can't pick a favorite...I'll go with The Others since I was pleasantly surprised with that movie
For books, H.P. Lovecraft had some cool stuff and Kafka's The Metamorphosis is memorable. As far as movies are concerned, I'd probably go with something like Texas Chainsaw and Night of the Living Dead (the originals). Especially Night of the Living Dead which set the precedent for zombie movies to come.

@BrewCityBarfly I've never read Lovecraft, what would you recommend to start with?
@DaughterOfGone Lovecraft wrote a lot of intertwined short stories and novelettes, so any compilation will do, but ensure it has The Dunwich Horror, and The Call of Cthulhu. Someone here mentioned The Evil Dead, which has some Lovercraft allusions.

reading the Shining by Stephen King back in what ... '79. Nothing had me sweating soo much and during the winter too! lol
DaughterOfGone · 31-35, F
@cycleman I love the book The Shinning, it's one of favourite King books... Did you ever read the sequel Doctor Sleep?
cycleman · 61-69, M
@DaughterOfGone never heard of it. I am not into reading him anymore.
RudestForm · 31-35, M
My favorite horror is the entire Evil Dead franchise, excluding the Fede Álvarez reboot. Ash Williams is my role model.

WeaveWorld or Imajica by Clive Barker.
His imagination is off the charts:
DaughterOfGone · 31-35, F
i love Clive Barker but I struggled with Weaveworld .. I found some parts great but felt it dragged a some times.. I lean more towards his horror.

But yes, bless his imagination and bless him for sharing it with the world
Pfuzylogic · M
@DaughterOfGone He had the ability to truly frighten me. The Books of Blood series being an example with later movies of Hellraiser and Candyman.
I still don't think the movies have truly done his books justice.
Another is Galllee is very sophisticated in plot!
