1) Trump and his supporters never like the idea that former President Obama gave back the billions of dollars that belong to Iran to them - he destroyed the Iran Nuclear Deal Obama made with Iran concerning nuclear weaponry. Anything Obama did Trump has been out to and has destroyed.
2) oil and money trying to get his hands in some of the control of the oil preserves of Iran which is fourth in the world.
3) many Nations fear what Iran would do if they had nuclear weaponry - the harbor and are known for terrorist groups. Trump is banking on that fear to carry out his assaults.
4) to help the people of Iran from being slaughtered by their government - was it 30,000 in 48 hours?

In order to answer your question I would have to get inside Demented Donnie tRUMP’s empty head. That is an ugly and sinister place to be.
I don’t know if it’s any comfort except to say that Demented Donnie tRUMP is enormously unpopular in the United States. His physical & mental health are rapidly failing and he is deteriorating more and more every day. It is looking increasingly like he won’t survive his term.
That’s sad, though. Because he deserves to spend many years in prison and even face the death penalty for treason and his failed insurrection.
