I am having a hard time rejoicing in this news because of many disappointments in the past ...

but apparently both Hamas and the Israeli government have agreed to the terms of the ceasefire and release of captives pushed by president Trump. May it be true, may everyone carry out their promises in good faith, may this horrible phase of this long struggle be over at last.

I have to think that the US lethal attack on drug runners may have had an influence on the agreement, But like you, what people say what they will do and what they actually do doesn't always match up.

@Heartlander I'm curious why you think this?

Is your thought that Hamas sees what is happening in the Caribbean and, therefore, takes America's threats more seriously??

@Heartlander i think Hamas does care about that at all. I think they are playing their usual game. Agree then stall. They will never give up their arms and or disband. They will pay and wait for their next opportunity the are sworn to destroy Israel. To get a lasting peace requires all of the other Arab countries to agree to do something to integrate Gaza into their world!
