The 20 Point Peace Plan for Gaza

This may be the closest yet to achieving peace in Gaza, the first step toward an eventual Palestinian state. If you were hoping for Bibi to be brought to The Hague on war crimes charges, or for Israel to no longer exist, you'll be disappointed. This is not a solution to the Israel-Palestine situation; it's a plan to end the war.

The entire plan may be seen here in full:

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c70155nked7o

I will do my best to summarize:

Immediate end to the war and withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza.

All Israeli hostages released within 72 hours, followed by the release from Israeli prisons of 250 life sentenced prisoners and 1,700 Gazans detained since Oct. 7, 2023.

Hamas members who commit to peaceful coexistence and decommission their weapons will be given amnesty, and any who wish to leave Gaza may do so.

Full humanitarian aid and material to rebuild infrastructure will be sent in to Gaza.

Aid will enter without interference from either the IDF or Hamas, and will be administered through the UN and Red Crescent. The Rafah crossing will be opened.

An apolitical committee of qualified Palestinians and international experts will administer Gaza's day to day affairs. A "Board of Peace" headed by President Trump will set the framework and handle funding for redevelopment.

No one will be forced to leave Gaza, and those who wish to leave will be allowed to, and will be free to return later.

Hamas will have no role in governance of Gaza. Underground tunnels will be permanently destroyed and all weapons decommissioned.

Security will be provided by an international stabilization force (ISF) developed by the US and the Arab states.

Israel will not occupy or annex Gaza. The IDF will withdraw and hand authority to the ISF.

Delays by Hamas will not impede implementation in areas they do not control.

The path toward Palestinian statehood and the aspirations of the Palestinian people toward self-determination will be recognized.

Isn't it interesting Bloom how you march lock step with every left wing narrative except this one?

You believe Hunter Biden's laptop is fake, antifa doesn't exist, Trump and MAGA are fascists.

But you don't support Palestine and Hamas over Israel.

If you were consistent, you would be crowing about the Israeli genocide and making everything about Zionists on this issue.

But you don't. You have a much more nuanced opinion on this issue. Why is that, ya think? 🤔
@SumKindaMunster Because it's not only wrong, it verges on the antisemitic trope of calling Jews "Nazis." There have never been any death camps or mass roundups of Palestinians in Israel. If the treatment of Palestinians is "Nazi" behavior, then so was the treatment of Black Americans during Jim Crow, Northern Irish Catholics prior to the Good Friday Accords, and pretty much every example of discrimination in history.

You've bought the propaganda that Hunter Biden is the worst criminal in modern history. The worst thing the guy did was not reveal that he was a drug addict on a gun application, which may not have even been a crime as he'd been clean for a while. It depends on whether "addiction" is a lifelong condition or refers to active drug use. AA has promoted the idea that "once an addict, always an addict" as it fits their agenda where you have to keep attending meetings for the rest of your life, even after you've stopped drinking.

Anyway, weak sauce for a criminal conviction. As for Hunter arranging for his father to sit in on business meetings, I'm sure you must be really outraged at Jared Kushner leveraging his father-in-law to get the Saudis to give him a multi-billion dollar bailout of his failing office building.

@Vin53 I pulled that image from your Amazon wish list. 😂

@LeopoldBloom I'm sorry it upsets you to be confronted with some of the poor behavior by the Israeli's here. I'm sorry the point I made upset you so, but it was just my opinion.

Personally, I believe you are more moderate on Israel/Palestine because you are a Jew and have an obvious affinity for the Jewish homeland.

Nothing wrong with that.

But my point is that when the subject has a personal impact on yourself, you are much more pragmatic and measured in your opinions.

My belief is that if you weren't Jewish, you would be a full throated supporter of the Palestinians and chanting their propaganda.

I actually appreciate reading your opinions on this subject because I think they are more pragmatic and reasonable.

Bibi should agree to it.

@wildland Was just wondering how come a chronic problem that cannot seem to be solved for so many years by so many leaders gets resolved with a 20 point program??
@wildland The peace plan doesn't say anything about a Palestinian state. It's only to end the war.

Hamas will accept it if their Qatari sponsors force them to.
@wrule Please read my summary of the plan. It doesn't solve the Israel-Palestine problem, it ends the current war in Gaza.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
Hamas/Palestine may accept and then renege later on their promises.

I would expect Trump to support a full scale invasion into Palestine if Hamas does not accept this peace plan.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Vin53 Ah, so now it's Trump's name that was brought up. Your arms sore from moving that goalpost?

@SumKindaMunster
You believe Hunter Biden's laptop is fake, antifa doesn't exist, Trump and MAGA are fascists.

Did you not invoke his name first?
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Vin53 Perhaps, but it was you who referenced him by making the crack about the Nobel prize.
No. That's not a peace plan.

@Roundandroundwego Like I said, if Hamas can spin this as a victory and their Qatari sponsors push them hard enough, they'll agree to it. They don't GAF about the people of Gaza, so that won't work.

If Hamas has "offered alterations," surely you can provide a citation, same as I did.
The involvement of DJT with $$ makes no sense and will be a huge point of failure.
@SomeMichGuy The best thing he can do is stay out of the way, let the adults handle it, and take credit for it.
@LeopoldBloom lol He should listen to you!
Vin53 · M
Does Hamas have a real fighting force? What does it entail, a whole bunch of Arabic dudes with ak-47's?
Vin53 · M
@SumKindaMunster I guess I just don't understand how they can stand up to a real army that has tanks, jets, missiles and drones with rifles and RPG's. Do they have a real military with training and leadership? I've never even seen what a Hamas company of soldiers even looks like.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Vin53 Because Israel is forced to NOT turn the whole area into a parking lot, but they certainly have the capacity to do so.

Hamas hides their weapons and leadership under tunnels and dares Israel to bomb hospitals and civilian areas to destroy the tunnels and weapons. They don't care about their civilian population, they are martyrs willing to die for the cause.
@Vin53 At this point, you're correct. However, they're the official Gaza government. They're not a threat to the IDF, they're more of an annoyance. Peace can't be achieved as long as they still hold hostages and can carry out attacks. As long as that continues, the IDF will occupy Gaza and Palestinians will keep dying.

What I didn't mention is how Hamas' major sponsor Qatar is pressuring the Hamas leadership to accept this, probably because Trump has promised them something in return.

@Northwest Yes, we know he keeps saying there will be no Palestinian state. The plan only ends the war.

Nobody thought Egypt would ever make peace with Israel until they did.
