The 20 Point Peace Plan for Gaza

This may be the closest yet to achieving peace in Gaza, the first step toward an eventual Palestinian state. If you were hoping for Bibi to be brought to The Hague on war crimes charges, or for Israel to no longer exist, you'll be disappointed. This is not a solution to the Israel-Palestine situation; it's a plan to end the war.

The entire plan may be seen here in full:

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c70155nked7o

I will do my best to summarize:

Immediate end to the war and withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza.

All Israeli hostages released within 72 hours, followed by the release from Israeli prisons of 250 life sentenced prisoners and 1,700 Gazans detained since Oct. 7, 2023.

Hamas members who commit to peaceful coexistence and decommission their weapons will be given amnesty, and any who wish to leave Gaza may do so.

Full humanitarian aid and material to rebuild infrastructure will be sent in to Gaza.

Aid will enter without interference from either the IDF or Hamas, and will be administered through the UN and Red Crescent. The Rafah crossing will be opened.

An apolitical committee of qualified Palestinians and international experts will administer Gaza's day to day affairs. A "Board of Peace" headed by President Trump will set the framework and handle funding for redevelopment.

No one will be forced to leave Gaza, and those who wish to leave will be allowed to, and will be free to return later.

Hamas will have no role in governance of Gaza. Underground tunnels will be permanently destroyed and all weapons decommissioned.

Security will be provided by an international stabilization force (ISF) developed by the US and the Arab states.

Israel will not occupy or annex Gaza. The IDF will withdraw and hand authority to the ISF.

Delays by Hamas will not impede implementation in areas they do not control.

The path toward Palestinian statehood and the aspirations of the Palestinian people toward self-determination will be recognized.

Hamas/Palestine may accept and then renege later on their promises.

I would expect Trump to support a full scale invasion into Palestine if Hamas does not accept this peace plan.
@SumKindaMunster I just listened to Haviv Rettig Gur's analysis of the plan. He said the same thing, that Hamas may accept if they think they can cheat and avoid some of the consequences. He also said that one sign that they will accept is if they spin it as a victory for their side, like saying that their goal all along was for Gaza to be rebuilt.

And yes, if Hamas doesn't accept, the war continues. I'd say the full scale invasion already happened.

@SumKindaMunster lol, that's no way to win the Nobel prize.

@Vin53 As usual all you care about is Trump in the equation. This is a real chance to stop the carnage and all you wanna do is dunk on Trump.

@SumKindaMunster lol you’re the one who brought him up
@Vin53 For the record, I despise Trump, but if his administration succeeds in pulling this off, he deserves a Nobel Peace Prize. It's not like that prize means much. If they could give one to Yasser Arafat, they might as well give one to Trump.

@LeopoldBloom IF. Yeah IF he stops this war AND the Ukraine/Russia war like he swore he would do in 24hrs sure, throw him the Nobel prize. I hope he falls on it and it punctures his wind pipe.
@Vin53 I don't know, just stopping the war in Gaza is probably sufficient. It's also easier to imagine an end to that war as one side has definitively won and doesn't have to concede anything. Russia/Ukraine is different because the two sides are in a stalemate and neither is willing to make the necessary concessions.

I'm sorry, then who were you referring to here:

@Vin53 Ah, so now it's Trump's name that was brought up. Your arms sore from moving that goalpost?

@SumKindaMunster
You believe Hunter Biden's laptop is fake, antifa doesn't exist, Trump and MAGA are fascists.

Did you not invoke his name first?
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Vin53 Perhaps, but it was you who referenced him by making the crack about the Nobel prize.
