I was smacked by my mother

I was diagnosed with tourettes when i was young. As i got older our family doctor told my parents i should of out grow it by now and i was only doing it for attention. So my mother would sit across from me and when ever i had a tic or outburst she'd slap me across the face. She figured i was faking now and if she hit me enough I'd stop.

Well im in my 40s now and I still have them.

Ya know, stories like yours really piss me off. The ignorance of our parents generation, believing everything they were told, trying to conform to a society that was in no way achievable. I feel for you brother, all we can do is make sure we don't pass the worst of our parents generational dysfunctions, down to out children.
