Why would this happen now

Im in my 40s and I have not developed a new tic in almost 10 years and now this.
It happened a few times at work. Id be sitting at the break table and suddenly slam my fist down on the table. I didn't think anything about it but its happening daily now. I even did it at tge zoo today. Why now
