I Have Ptsd

I don't have PTSD but I have a son who does . He is a Navy veteran who has been serving since 1999. He started having problems after he got back from Afghanistan . He has trouble sleeping , anxiety and panic attacks , mood swings , depression and has had thoughts of suicide . I moved closer to him , so I can help his wife . He has been to the VA and they have him on several medications . I am writing this to raise awareness that there are many who suffere from this . Not everyone with PTSD gets this aflixation from being in a combat area . Women and children are susceptible because of the abuse they encounter by either spouses , boyfriends and for children from parents or family members . For those who read my story and believe in prayer , I'm asking you to pray from my son and for all who suffer from PTSD . Thank you

Oh and on a side note : I'm being respectful in writing this and ALL negative or demeaning comments WILL BE DELETED .

I can totally relate; i'm a combat wounded disabled veteran rated decades ago by the V.A. as permanently and totally disabled with severe/chronic PTSD. I've managed it many years via group therapy at the V.A. so if your son hasn't checked with V.A. on this then please pursue this since he'd be in group with his peers who relate. My prayers are with you all.
