Burn the letter and do not look back
Autumadea · 26-30, F
@Iwillwait I kept it behind the fact he crossed that word out and put “myself” o want to always look at it and get scared to have it remind me this person is very dangerous

I can't really understand what you went through, but I can certainly believe it.

Some men write letters as a form of closure when the reality is that the breakup is all the closure we ever get. Seems more like he was just writing to see if he still had control over you, and it seems like he does. My advice? Take the letter and throw it in the trash. He doesn't need nor deserve a response from you. You got out, and there's nothing more to it.

Unfriended, unfollowed, all photos of him deleted from your social media accounts.

@GohantheThird thank you, he’s in jail and he wrote that to me , he wanted me to write back and I told him no I couldn’t deal with him no more.
@Autumadea good for you. You don't owe him anything. Unless you have kids, there's no need to be in contact with him.

I was supposed to be ugly and pretty at the same time

Never have I related more to a sentence that explained my abusive ex. I'm so sorry you went through this too.

His way of crossing over "you" give me the chills and not good ones. It was guarantee on purpose. Anyone else would have covered the wrong written mistakes, he wanted you to see how he is indirectly telling you, he is above you and you don't matter. Which would have worked on you if you was still under a big gaslight cloud. Thankfully you see things clear now.

His behaviour could honestly be a good scene in a psychological thriller.

But we aware. When we've been with someone like that, we wanna understand them after we have left them. On the surface it seems normal to analyze them. But to keep trying to get in the head of your abuser, is also a subliminal tactic of them to keep controlling you.

The best way to break his manipulation, is to don't care what he writes, don't even open the letters. Just throw them away. Cut all ties. And move on.

@Queendragonfly I’m so glad you understood that part where I said he crossed out you . When I read that it also gave me chills , it was intentional. I just wanted to read the letter and understand it so it could scare me because the whole letter he’s love bombing me but I know there is something in between those lines that should freaking scare me and it was that: you are very right about the physiological thriller , you see that stuff in movies! Thank you for your advice and thoughts

Take no notice, he’ll love that you get upset, playing games with you.
