The fact that you are aware of it and don't want to continue as you are is a huge step.
Seek help, you will find someone to work with you. Don't give up! 🙂

@Wiseacre thanks for the encouragement

I don't agree with her ( @Wiseacre's ) response that there's no cure for personality disorders. 🙄
I believe that if we work on ourselves hard enough and we find out what we need to do, granted it might be a long time commitment and struggle, but I think progress is definitely possible.
I stand by what I said before. Don't let anyone discourage you. I have personal bad experiences with narcissists. Very unpleasant, but if they acknowledged that they needed to change for themselves and were serious about it and were willing to do better, personally, ( simply because of previous experiences) I would keep them at an arms length and hope they do it.
Alcohol is not a personality disorder but there are alcoholics that have been in remission for decades and are doing very well. They stuck with a program that worked for them. I think anyone can improve. Good luck to you! Don't give up! 😊🤗🙏🏻 .. @SW-User
No cure? Hogwash! The will and the determination to improve from within is the cure. Psychological help may help as well. There is only no cure when people give up.

@SW-User I wouldn't turn to social media for encouragement...we are not therapists...get a counselor.
