Answering this in good faith --
A) Women used to be stereotyped as crazy and that was used as an avenue for oppression of women. The word 'hysteria' is actually derived from the latin word for uterus because old timey scientists would claim that the uterus makes them crazy.
B) Everyone thinks being crazy can be empowering in a way and it kind of makes sense. Men do this too with comparing themselves to the joker. if someone's crazy, it's more dangerous to start fights with them because you never know how far they'll go, beyond what's even remotely proportional or rational. You don't want to be on a crazy person's bad side.
In reality, of course, being mentally unwell makes you MORE vulnerable to exploitation. This logic only makes sense in the context of being a power fantasy.
