Cute image

I thought my mother in her 60s was getting dementia but now i think it was just her sneakily being high on something. It was scary and i still dont want her to drive her car when she's tired.

@NamesBatty youre worried but you still do it, mothers are both the most reckless and the best 😂

@MartinTheFirst You are a sweet young man, and your mom is lucky to have you.🙂

When I had covid it triggered a siezure for me as well. When I was younger I had petite mals that could last days, but sort of grew out of them over the years to the point I didn't need meds anymore. The seizure lasted for days and all i could do was try to sleep it off. Eventually did. No seizures since. Was not prepared with how much stress covid would levy on me to trigger that.

@Jessmari Oh, I am really really sorry you went through that.😔
This stuff is so strange, and it seems like people have so many different reactions to this. I am glad you were able to sleep through it and that you have not had a seizure since then. I am finally feeling a bit better myself. I hope both of us are through the worst of it.🤗
Hmmm. Interesting. My brain also took frequent mini staycations. The medication seems to have helped a great deal. Increased frequency prior to medication was also after Covid, several bouts.

I saw a friend of mine experience an absence seizure and I was officially creeped out.

It happened about a decade ago during the Summer.

My friend and I were hanging out at his place and having a conversation about some trivial stuff we were reading from a magazine when all of a sudden, he was staring intensely at a picture on one of the pages and I mean staring so intensely at it that he could practically burn a hole through the page.

Shortly thereafter, he started to sit down on the floor like he was sulking.

In a panic, I kept saying his name, hoping he'd say something to me in reply, but he was just unresponsive, even though outwardly, he appeared lucid.

It was one of the creepiest things I've ever witnessed in my entire life.

@Sidewinder That does sound very scary to have to see for sure. Luckily, until recently, my seizures have been mild. All of my family, going back to my great-grandparents, have had seizures, but for us, it mostly looks like spacing out to the people around us. I have even trained all my children and grandchildren to hold up a hand and say, " I'm on vacation. I will send a postcard," as the seizure begins. It helps people around us not be as freaked out. My oldest son has seizures like the one you mentioned, but only once in a while. It has caused him to have 3 vehicle wrecks. It took a while to figure out what was going on because right after the wrecks, he seemed totally coherent. That is, until the last one. He had a seizure on the highway driving, and left the highway at 70 miles per hour. He was 600 yards off the road in the dirt when he stopped. When the ambulance got there, they could get to him, so he drove his truck to them. He was still having the seizure. I'm sorry what happened with your friend was scary, but I think he was really lucky you were there.🙂
