I Have Epilepsy

I never really took epilepsy to be life-threatening or something that could potentially kill me. I thought that, because I haven’t had a seizure in 5 years and on medication, I’ll be fine.

But hearing about someone dying in their sleep after having a seizure, despite receiving treatment, it really makes me wonder. I may be fine for now, but who knows what can happen in the future.

Saying that, I’m not afraid of death. Never was. I know it’s inevitable. It’s going to come one way or another. I’ve accepted that.

But I’m only 23. I have so many things that I want to do and accomplish, before I do go. I want to travel, share my art, do some good in the world.

Do all you want to. Live.
My oldest aunt had grand mal epilepsy and no one wanted her to do anything. I was very little when she passed but I did not like seeing her life limited.
