I Know What Depression Can Do To A Person

But I'm just a little curious. Is it possible that someone who's severely depressed can lose touch with reality and suffer mental confusion?

I may stand corrected on this, but 'mere' depression if prolonged can lead to actual psychosis, a complete divergence from reality.
