I am depression,
I'm the emptiness you feel at 2am.
The tears with no meaning.
The pain when you smile.
I don't come alone.
I bring my closest friends...
We are the scars that cover your body.
The voice you despise,
But soon learn to trust.
I am the only thing you will feel.

I am the chains wrapped around your wrists pulling you down

the dull ache in your heart that crushes all hope

the hollowness within your soul that kills all colour and beauty

the invisible tears you cannot cry that choke in your throat

the loneliness that will never be quenched yet will never vanish

the lingering whisper within your mind that you so desperately try to ignore

the gulf you feel from everyone around you even in a crowd

I am your depression and I'm the only one here for you.
