I Battle Depression

It's real..... The struggle can be unbearable and it hurts. We all go thru it at some point in our lives. For some of us it hangs around like a monkey on our back.
But this monkey is no fun.... In fact it hurts.... And it's painful. So much so that we want to end it. It leaves us in tears. We think about ending it all. Sometimes we write and plan it out.
I was diagnosed with having major depression just recently, but have had it for alot longer.
I've found out a few things that have helped me.
1.Be honest.... With yourself and with others. In other words.... Don't hide it. You'll be surprised how many millions suffer from depression. That one person.....may be able to help.

2.Live life..... The worst you can do is stay on the computer at 3 in the afternoon while it's sunny and beautiful outside. So go bike ridin, skating.... Take a walk in the park.

3 . Be optimistic. Realize that it's not permanent. I've known that alot of us have suffered with depression for years. We've been to the breaking point of "fu@k this"..... But just saying 'It's not too bad'....' This is only temporary' helps. I know its all physiological.... But it does help.

4.Improve your social life..... Family and friends can be gold if you trust them to be there for you. But..... Yes a big BUT......they have to be trustworthy and be able to help. (this is a major problem of mine) You need a support group. If your best friend can be there for you And be a shoulder to lean on... All the more power to you.
