J.K. Rowling on depression

It’s so difficult to describe depression to someone who’s never been there, because it’s not sadness. I know sadness. Sadness is to cry and to feel. But it’s that cold absence of feeling— that really hollowed-out feeling.

It’s a numb disassociation imo .. depression is a long and deep sadness an emotional hole people fall into mentally and drown in dark thoughts of rejection and hopelessness and sometimes shame a deep unhappiness to the core nagging them to silent screaming
