Different forms of physician prescribed anti depressant medications/along with talk therapy-work for different patients/persons. While I am certainly NOT making any generalized assumptions about YOUR experience/situation with genetically inherited/circumstance induced depression-I CAN share with you that having been on various anti depression prescription medications-legitimately prescribed by licensed physicians-since December, 1983 (at the time-I was an 18 year old Senior attending a Houston, Texas high school and on a 16 day "winter break"-I had been genetically depressed for six years and suicidal for two months-I finally got on a physician prescribed anti depression medication known as Tofranil. Simultaneously-I started-on a frequent basis-"talk" therapy via conversing with a licensed clinical psychologist. Both of these therapeutic forms started showing marked improvements/results within four weeks-hence I was-finally-able to experience feelings of happiness/joy, and went on to complete my senior year of high school (Monday, August 22'nd to Friday, July 20'th, 1984-while earning EXCELLENT academic grades. Also-I became much more socialized with some of my fellow high school students. Most IMPORTANTLY-meds and "talk" therapy saved my life.
Hang in there-and-if you are comfortable doing so-let me know how you progress. Take care.
