How long does your depression last when it flares up?

For those that go through cycles or have depressive episodes.
Mine starts off slowly over a month period and then peaks after 2 weeks.

Have you ever been checked out by a Dr who specialises in hormones?

Obvs! I'm not a Dr, I only play one on line but does this perhaps start building up from when you ovulate? Or after your period ends?

The two week thing sounds suspiciously like out of whack hormones.

@AntisocialTroll I do have a diagnosis of major depression so it's mostly that. Hormones do cause more extreme flares sometimes but that's because it affects me when I'm already depressed. I just took the plan b a few days ago as a backup, so no period for me probably for a month because it's what it does to me. But it's beneficial as in I can skip at least thankfully.
