My dear girls, please don't confuse PMS with depression.

It is possible for people to confuse premenstrual syndrome (PMS) with depression, as there can be overlapping symptoms between the two conditions. PMS refers to a combination of physical, emotional, and psychological symptoms that occur in the days or weeks leading up to a woman's menstrual period. These symptoms can vary widely but may include mood swings, irritability, anxiety, sadness, fatigue, and changes in appetite.

Depression, on the other hand, is a mood disorder characterized by persistent feelings of sadness, loss of interest or pleasure in activities, changes in appetite and sleep patterns, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and feelings of worthlessness or guilt. While some of these symptoms may resemble those experienced during PMS, depression is generally a more pervasive and long-lasting condition that affects a person's overall well-being.

It's important to note that PMS and depression are distinct conditions, although they can coexist. However, if the symptoms are severe, persistent, or significantly impact daily functioning, it is essential to consult a healthcare professional for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
