This is a complex and multifaceted issue, and there are a variety of potential factors that can contribute to depression in young men in their early 20s. These factors can include financial and career pressures, difficulties in interpersonal relationships, difficulty in adjusting to adulthood, and changes in physical and mental health. It is important to remember that depression is a serious condition, and it is important to seek professional help if you or someone you know is feeling depressed.

I’m not too sure but I’m 26 so I’m considered late twenties. I’m what you call a job hopper. Throughout my multiple jobs I’ve met all kinds of people. Some of these people were younger dudes who were in the age group you mentioned. At my last job I met a dishwasher who was very dissatisfied with his position in life. He kept talking about how “this ain’t it bro, I’m trying to holler at some hoes but I can’t do that while working as a dishwasher…..have you heard of Andrew Tate?”. I just kind of laughed when he told me this and I thought to myself “ he’s so convinced that becoming rich and famous will make him happy and he’s so focused on this that he can’t see the many blessings that he’s got in life already. Many believe one has to be discontent with their present to pursue a better future but I disagree. One can live a life of gratitude while still pursuing an ideal future. The glass may be half full but I’m in no rush to fill it and as a matter of fact it’s more than half full because my life is quite fulfilled as it is already. If I fill it more then it’s welcomed but if not then it’s not worth stressing about in the present. I’m not vouching for endless optimism and I’m not saying that I hold all of the answers but what I am saying is that sometimes instead of looking for answers from the external world like Andrew Tate on YouTube it’s better to listen to your own inner intuition. After all, you know yourself better than anyone else. If what you desire is to be filthy rich and famous then by all means pursue it but just make sure it’s what YOU really want and that you don’t forget that part of the pleasure is found in the pursuit of the goal. Washing those dishes is part of his journey because he chose to be there, probably to pay the bills or make a little extra cash but he’s there and I was there too along side him washing dishes smelling like filth. We are both losers by society’s standards but I don’t mind because I don’t see myself as a loser. I know who I am and where I am going. My job is pretty lame and seemingly pointless but that’s okay because most peoples lives isn’t a dramatic heroes journey or a playboy billionaire’s journey and I don’t expect it to. Of course I don’t enjoy washing dishes but I make the best of it while pursuing my own personal goal: To live off the grid on my own land away from the busy cities and suburbs. Maybe a small town will be ok too. My goal isn’t any more right or valid than anyone else’s. To each his/her own.

@HermannFegelein you got it going on just keep moving forward 👍

@HermannFegelein "can’t see the many blessings that he’s got in life already"... Exactly!... It is strange to read online or to listen to them in person... I don't want to write more about it now LOL but you can read many of their comments on "self help?" videos or the one that has Andrew Tate in it... One should enjoy life and be patient about it, step by step they will reach their goals. Will they ever get their dream girl? who knows but I don't think girls should be forced on being with anyone they don't want lol.. I feel the type of videos they watch are making it worse for them and destroying their self-esteem.

I like your mind set, and good luck with achieving your dreams.

@ListenUp yeah, that’s another thing I don’t like about modern society. Everything is hyper-sexualized and I didn’t like how this dude calls women “hoes”. It just dehumanizes women and makes it seem as if they’re just pieces of meat with no soul.

the noise they call music is definitely part of it
@1490wayb lol agree

Too much time online and women only treat them as threats and tools. There are no friendships or relationships to be had.
They are the bastard children of history. No Great War no hardships. Been told their whole lives that there’s something wrong with them. That their nature is toxic. When they do conform they are scorned for it.

This is a powder keg. Maybe it will fizzle and die but regardless the void it leaves will be insurmountable

@Quoththeraven That explains the losers who shoot up places. Everyday there is at least one mass shooting.

Lack of role models these days.

Because they think that social media and virtual relationships are everything
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
Are they? I don't even know people in this age range to be able to tell, tbh.
ListenUp · M
@CrazyMusicLover Many of them yes, unfortunately, I think many YouTube channels are making fortune by telling them about how worthless they are and that their fate was decided by their poor genes and mostly no girl want to be with them. They call it black pill. I don't want to underestimate their suffering but I don't think these channels are good for their mental health.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@ListenUp Why do they watch those channels though? Why don't they have anyone in real life to tell them that they shouldn't watch that? How do they get to that kind of content? There are millions videos to watch, why do they watch the types that harm them?
ListenUp · M
@CrazyMusicLover I am not sure if these videos are supposed to be self help or to make them see the "true reality" and maybe escape "the matrix" as some call it. I just found few channels last week. Many say that they are lonely and no father figure was in their life. Depression play apart I guess in attracting them to these type of topics. It fuel their anger towards women and modern society. I started to see these topic after Andrew Tate was arrested. And these topics are kinda common to see in twitter nowadays and it is not only attracting western young men but even men in other parts of the world.

Here is one of the strangest videos I have seen in these channels...

When you are nothing more than a random sample of atoms degenerating as each day goes by there is a definite lack of purpose. Life without purpose is extremely depressing.
Chasing instant gratification in every aspect of life!
Hard work is sustainably rewarding. The catch is you have to actually do the work and wait as much as required which takes a leap of faith.

People are confused, can't tell good from bad anymore. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Masculinity is viewed as toxic but in truth men are still expected to be men in society, women say one thing but don't actually believe it when it comes to how men should act.

Tbf it's the same with women. Men want a virgin wife but are also frustrated if she doesn't fuck them after 2 dates.

Coz they haven’t yet understood what’s life all about……..

I'm 30 and am pretty depressed, not very depressed though. Granted, our home burned down in the wildfires and I basically lost almost everything including my pets with no insurance. A good friend committed suicide, a good friend was brutally raped, kidnapped for days and nearly murdered, I broke my spine getting a permanent injury, annnnnnddddddd we're just in a constant flux of being sure of having a home and not being sure of having a home. Also all my work I've done for years hardly makes anything.

Pretty sure I have two-three layers of PTSD though.
@Teirdalin I will pray for you.

White males in the hegemonic superpower nation work less than they did at the height of the depression.
They're dangerous, but the country is killing itself.
