I've just been frolicking along on the internet for a while now, and people making jokes about drinking bleach and killing themselves seem to be a thing that I see more and more these days. As a person who has depressed friends but is not depressed themselves, I'm just curious what other people's thoughts are on the matter. Are they bad?

I think it depends on if it's a kind hearted joke or tease every once in a while, but for the most part no. Depression is a mental disorder and is very real. Joking about things that people have a tough time controlling isn't a good thing, especially with depression. It could push someone over the edge that is suffering with it.
