I Battle Depression

I have been sick most of this week, and as I'm recovering, I'm realizing that my creative drive is dead. Creating illustrations was one of my escapes. I've always enjoyed making art, because it has made me feel as if I had some kind of control in my life. I had just gifted myself a new ipad a month ago to help myself create more interesting pieces. Now, my mind is a creative desert. I'm devastated. I thought I would be more motivated after my illness, but my sadness has come back to haunt me. My sadness has killed any motivation I had. I'll never be successful.

I don't think it's possible to remain positive, motivated and inspired 24/7... There will always be times you'll feel "down", like there's no point in life etc... Draw inspiration from that... Once I heard that most masterpieces in art were created in particularly difficult and sad moments in the artists' lives... Sadness, oddly, can be a powerful drive of creative genius...
