I Fight Depression and Loneliness Everyday

I was recently diagnosed with depressive bipolar disorder. It explains a lot but even with the meds im still depressed and I come home to an empty apartment with no one to really talk to. I know there are people who are a lot worse off then me but yea I'm sad.

Possibly you may just be sad and lonely. Instead of bi-polar. Not for anyone but doctors to decide. But i do know that they often diagnose rather quickly. Maybe get a second opinion for yourself.

Example: Sadness is an emotion, and depression is an illness. With sadness, there is no imbalance in the brain and medications will only throw off you brain chemistry. So, why would anyone take a pill for an emotion.

I say this because you state above "empty apartment", "Sad" and "no one to talk to". To me you describe it being an environmental issue. Rather than something chemically wrong.

Also medications do very little without other things like therapy.

Maybe try therapy to figure out if you it is an "Emotion" Or and "Illness".

As i say only doctors can decide. But a therapist will spend a lot more time with you to help you figure out.

For myself. Therapy works wonders.
There’s not a competition to decide who is allowed to be depressed. It happens to some of the wealthiest, most outgoing, and seemingly happiest people alive. It’s not something you can simply “suck up” and move on from. Anyone who says otherwise doesn’t know what they are talking about. The most important thing is having someone reliable to talk to when you’re feeling down, whether it’s a friend, a therapist, or a family member. Since you are somewhat newly diagnosed, I suggest trying to locate a group therapy near you. Online is good, but I think doing it in person can be more beneficial. Sometimes, just being around people who are experiencing the same things as you makes it a little easier.
I wish you luck:)

Have you found anything else that might help alleviate what you're feeling when you aren't able to talk to someone?
