I Have Battled Depression Since Childhood

Some people really just won't help themselves or don't want to.
Told a guy who said he was suicidal that he had to take the steps to improve his life around the depression or at least try. Told me "Not gonna happen. It doesn't work for people who have actual problems!"

Told dude It does and i survived 10 years of clinical depression/panic attacks/suicide attempts, gotta at least try. And he left me some dismissive comment and blocked me before I could read it (saw the first couple words)

I don't think he liked that he had some form of responsibility for his own life, which is the best place to be in order to actually move forward and improve your situation. I think it's harder to actually face your self and move forward than it is to wallow in self pity, it almost becomes comfortable from my experience.

Anyways, this isn't to call someone out and I hope he finds his way, but to stress the point that outside of your problems the only person that can do anything about it is you, and if you can become a dependable person to yourself you set yourself free. Best advice i can give anyone with depression, it's hard but it works and if we don't take responsibility for ourselves in the places we can then there's nowhere to go from there.

Smiles, teddies and shit ✌️

Yes, that at the end of the day it's only you that can get you, pull you out of that situation and fix it all for you, and you alone are enough

By you I mean any individual 😋
