I Fight Depression and Loneliness Everyday

So, here I am again. The Wellbutrin that worked so well for several years has lost much of its efficacy. Thank God it still controls my temper, but that is about all it does anymore.
During the last six years, several things have happened to cause a good amount of stress.
Divorce
Remarriage
move to another state
my best high school friend died
my only sister died
my mother died
another close friend died
I had a BIG blow up with my father
my husband retired
my husband was in the hospital for a month trying to beat sepsis
my son suddenly blames everything in his life on me and shows NO respect at all

Even through all that (and much more) the wellbutrin helped me to have a decent life again. I still listened to music constantly. I wrote pretty involved blogs for a leftist group. My house was spotless. I lost 40 pounds.

Now? I don't listen to music except in the car. I don't write at all. My house is a mess and I have gained back 30 pounds.

So, now, my doctor has put me on lexapro. I don't really think this is gonna be the medication for me. I do sleep better and my general attitude is much better, but I am also tired all the time, get nauseous and have even less energy than before.

Giving it the rest of five weeks to work, then will request something different. I have no clue what that will be. Different people recommend different meds for different reasons. So..I guess we'll see...

are you seeing a psychiatrist or just mla general pra ctice MD? I definitely recommend the first.

I hope they find the right med for you soon. It's tricky the way the body gradually loses responses to meds, so what used to work needs to be replaced :/

@PTCdresser57 Thanks. Yes, doing better. The Lexapro was a bust, but the next med tried was Remeron and combined with the Wellbutrin, things are better. ☺️
