I Am Bipolar

Venetian Snares - Kétsarkú Mozgalom (Bipolar Movement)

I used to understand "happy," I know that I used to be happy, I was really happy. I'm unhappy now and I can't remember what it's like to be happy, I only remember… I don't remember… I remember being happy only in comparison to not being happy, which is what I am now.

Love the violin selection. I also remember happier moments (albeit they were brief). How long have you dealt with the malady of bi-polar? I have the MAJOR treatment resistant type.

I guess there were hints of it even when I was little but it really got started when I was 13 or so. I didn't get the right diagnosis until I was 35.

Sorry you're saddled with this shitty condition too ☹

You are telling me my own story! It is a miserable monster. The disease robs you of so, so much and the only people who understand it are the ones who have it. It's hard on relationships, self confidence...hard on all the things you need to be socially acceptable. But you have an ear for good music. I envy that. Do you play as well?

It's funny how we're all different, with completely different lives, and yet we all share that story. When I hear other people in support groups talking about their lives, it's almost surreal, things I never thought to connect to it, things I never told anyone about.

There are quite a few of us on here; bipolar can be so isolating. I wish people understood it better.

Thanks ☺ Most people hate the music I like. I had fairly intensive music lessons from 6-10 years old, so it's ground in pretty deeply. It was recorder, which isn't a very useful instrument so I sing instead. I practice quite a bit because it's very enjoyable and it's the kind of thing you have to keep up.
