I Am Bipolar

Hello Everyone!

I am Bipolar II and have spent the majority of my life un-medicated, which has been my own personal hell. A few months ago I started therapy and 5 weeks ago I began a medication that has completely changed my life.

I have done a ton of reading on bipolar and each book, website, and pamphlet emphasizes the importance of therapy as a component of illness management. Since starting the medication I am alarmingly stable and I am struggling to understand the role therapy can play in my new medicated existence.

If any one has any advice on therapy, I would greatly appreciate it, as I don’t doubt it is important but I am struggling with incorporation into my life.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Hi. There. That is awsome. How were you before and what do you feel now?

I was extremely depressed and suicidal. I frequently used alcohol and self harm to cope. On the medication i am stable and most often in a good mood. I still struggle from bouts of anxiety from time to time but i just got an add on medication to help cope with that.
