This might sound stupid..

But I'm just wondering if bipolar disorder is real?

I don't understand how mental disorders are diagnosed.
SW-User
@iamnikki they scan your brain i guess.
CestManan · 46-50, F
@iamnikki A little too loosely I imagine.
ServantOfTheGoddess · 61-69, M
@SW-User not usually! The diagnoses are based on symptoms, in this case alternating depression and elation.
iamnikki · 31-35, F
@ServantOfTheGoddess but it seems like anybody could be bipolar if they are just going off of symptoms. I'm sure most people have felt extremely sad and extremely elated. Doesn't mean they are bipolar
ServantOfTheGoddess · 61-69, M
@iamnikki I agree. But most people don't go through a cycles of either extremely sad or extremely elated without some kind of moderation in between.

@ServantOfTheGoddess
It's not as simple as sad to happy.
ServantOfTheGoddess · 61-69, M
@minxy oh I know it is not that simple. Do you want to add more?
