@SW-User not usually! The diagnoses are based on symptoms, in this case alternating depression and elation.

@ServantOfTheGoddess but it seems like anybody could be bipolar if they are just going off of symptoms. I'm sure most people have felt extremely sad and extremely elated. Doesn't mean they are bipolar

@iamnikki I agree. But most people don't go through a cycles of either extremely sad or extremely elated without some kind of moderation in between.
