Do we have to define ourselves really?

I’m bipolar. When I’m high and manic, I’m completely bohemian, I love reading poetry in the middle of the night, the more passionate the better, I paint more, I want to go the sea, I wear more romantic clothes, I am more sensual, I write much much more and better, I have deeper conversations.

When I’m not mild manic, I just like to bake cookies, be a sweet homemaker type, watch films or write novels, study, knit socks, that sort of thing, do sensible cosy things

Because of this I feel like I have two personalities, and it gets confusing? Do we have to define ourselves really.

You really don’t have to explain your personalities to anyone although you have described your manic and less manic aspects in very strong detail.
When I write my poetry and prose here it requires a very strong motivation and when I transitioned into writing my one Novel I committed to a minimum of 500 words a day and it happened.
I believe that artists need to only define themselves to themself since that is the only one that understands you.
Defining ourselves is kind of imposing limits on ourselves, no?

Wisdom is in realising that you're neither of the personalities. You are a container, not the content. Realising this deeply allows one to create distance from the content and thereby control of the contents...

No. Just stay in your lane. That's all. 🙂
