Well I lost father of the year award

This morning I was getting our daughter's pills ready for the week and Joe just happened to be watching me and he asked me why I was breaking her old pills in half. At our daughter's last neurology appointment they made some med changes they increased a couple of her pills. But these new pills I'm supposed to break them in half and give her half in the morning half at night. That was with the new pills.

The old pills I was supposed to double up give her two in the morning two at night until we ran out of them and then I was supposed to switch to the new pills.

Well I've been breaking her old pills in half and giving her half in the morning half at night. So she's been getting a much lower dosage than what she's used to.

That explains her increasing anxiety her sleepwalking everything.

So now I feel like a complete failure and I let my daughter down. I cannot believe I made that mistake. Very lucky she didn't have a panic attack or worse this week because of what I did.

So no father of the year award for me just dumbass of the year

Everybody makes mistakes sometimes. Great that Joel has your back!
It's a relief to have the explanation for the increased sleepwalking.

@Poppies Joel will now be helping me prep our meds every week with me to make sure I don't mess up
"Mistakes happen."
But I'm glad this one was caught before it got too out of hand and one of your next posts was about...

It's easy to make mistakes when dealing with changing or complicated med cycles. Give yourself a break.

@ineedadrink I'm just glad it didn't effect her worse than a little bit of anxiety and sleep walking
Please be kind to yourself.

@MyMonstersAreReal thank you. I am feeling better. I just can't believe I did this and how lucky I got that nothing bad happened because of it. I will be having Joel help me with the meds from now on.
(((((HUGS))))) I have made similar mistakes with my own anti anxiety pills, I'm supposed to take one every 12 hours, but sometimes I double up at night, I can take up to 2mg in a 24 hour period, but I'm only prescribed one 0.5mg every 12 hours.

@NativePortlander1970 well I should of had Joel with me when I got her pills together after the change. My notes weren't clear. But we got to work out. And she's getting the right dose this evening so it should help with her anxiety. I still feel horrible but I got very lucky
