So my psychiatrist is insistent that I have autism....

But I noticed that when I'm talking to her,
She jumps to conclusions and I'm the one who has to tell her to see nuances and a broader picture to what I'm trying to explain....

Yeah, seems legit 🤔

(Yeah yeah, I'm still ruminating about the appointment I had with her nearly 6 months ago... It's eating me, aight? Just let me vent.
She actually pretty nice, I'm just annoyed).

ask her if she has a lot of autistic clients

@Jackaloftheazuresand Her profile quotes: Clinical Lead Neurodevelopmental Disorders.

I don't mean to dis on her, but I get the impression that she's looking at everything through ASD coloured glasses.

Could just be my personal gripe tho

@Fishy I don't put much stock in the academic pigeonholing of the mind, it's fraught with so much uncertainty and unknowable aspects. You don't think it sounds like you so that must be what she's doing

@Jackaloftheazuresand hmmmm, kinda on the fence about that one....

I mean, sometimes someone can be something but they're in denial about it?
Or lack self awareness of the core problem

@Fishy Do you have any reason to suspect that you're denial like seeing autism as a negative? Plus people in denial always know they are in denial in some small way. Only you can possibly know that. Everything someone else says is a guess for sure.
