So my psychiatrist is insistent that I have autism....

But I noticed that when I'm talking to her,
She jumps to conclusions and I'm the one who has to tell her to see nuances and a broader picture to what I'm trying to explain....

Yeah, seems legit 🤔

(Yeah yeah, I'm still ruminating about the appointment I had with her nearly 6 months ago... It's eating me, aight? Just let me vent.
She actually pretty nice, I'm just annoyed).

Maybe give her a little more time and discuss a couple of examples of what you described. They usually want to help not just put a perceived square peg in a square hole. But if it persist I think your instincts are right.

@Subsumedpat yeah, that's the thing tho,
I really only see her every 6 months or so because money, lol,

But yeah,
If I did see her more often it would be easier for both me and her to get on the same page and understand each other better
@Subsumedpat I disagree, most shrinks just quote freud or jung, they don't listen, they just insist you're one thing or another.

@NativePortlander1970 tbf tho,
My (clinical) psychologist likes to deep dive, really get into the core reasons of things before coming to conclusions,
But I've seen her for a lot longer than my psychiatrist and on a more regular basis too.

At first she thought it could've been asd, but started boiling it down to trauma when I had the chance to explain more things to her
@Fishy Sounds like your clinical ruled it out based on more rational methods that your other shrink should pay better attention to.
