Got called stupid for not getting a joke
One of my uncles said, “You’re not gone yet?” When I told them I’m going to bed. I was confused and said, “I’m in the house.” My uncle rolled his eyes. He looked at my older siblings and laughed, “She doesn’t get it huh?”
I tried to tell them “like bed?”
My uncle was like, “(my name), it was A JOKE!! God!!”
My siblings laughed. One of my cousins (my uncle’s granddaughter) said, “Boy are you stupid (my name). Don’t you know a joke when you hear one. I’m 13 and I understand better than you. At 22 you would have been smart enough to know that.” Everyone laughed at my cousins roast.
I’m autistic so it isn’t my fault I don’t understand some jokes. I cried so hard in my room.
I’m very disappointed at my older siblings for not standing up for me when I got called stupid because I didn’t get the joke. I wish my parents were still alive to comfort me. 😭😭😭😭😭😭
