Are people with autism/Aspergers so clueless and naive when it comes to “friends?”

I used to hang out with these three girls that I no longer hang with. Didn’t wanna believe they were fake sluts. My best friends were right. My late dad said, “Look just because someone gives you a nice gift or a card doesn’t mean they care about you! You BETTER listen to me.”
He didn’t even say it was kind of them.
I didn’t wanna hear him. He didn’t have to be so blunt. I would complain about it to my older half siblings but they said something I didn’t wanna hear.
My brother said, “You’re not going to like what I’m going to say but I’m going to say it because it’s the truth. Dad’s right. People can pretend very well but deep down inside, they probably can’t stand your ass. We’ve all seen how your peers treated you. We’ve seen a couple girls give you nasty looks behind your back. I hate to say this but I think they’re just only being nice to you because you have a disability.”
My sister said, “You’re so naive about friends. Even your best friends. You guys got to watch out who you’re hanging out with. Das and our mom told us the same things. It’s happened to all of us. Listen to Dad. He is smart. He says what you NEED to hear.
some people pretend like you but in reality they don’t like you and frankly I don’t think those girls like you that much.”
She’s talking about the three girls I used to hang out with. Wow…..that was harsh.
