Well they were before, I can see keeping Aspergers in the autism spectrum, but they have actually officially done away with the name of it. I would like it better if they brought it back and continued to consider it a type of Autism because it enables them to come up with a specific treatment for that KIND of autism, instead of encouraging them to lump treatments and techniques in together and assuming all will work for one.

whether to combine aspergers into the same umbrella as autism has been debated for sometime now, personally i preferred them separate. they have some similar characteristics but many different, but the biggest thing either way is that it should be recognized they are first and foremost people and given proper care and treatment.

I had a doctor for several years who had Aspergers. I suppose they exist on an arc or spectrum together but I really don't know enough to have an opinion on the matter.

i DO think it is innacurate to link Aspers with autism.
it is entirely a different set of behaviors, and by definition, Aspys can get along in the world. prosper even.
just takes some adjustments

I have Aspergers too. But for the past few years they have been classifying it under the name autism spectrum disorder.
You are neurodivergent, like me. Our universe is a continuum of different conditions, but we are all neurodivergent!

@SW-User No there's not. Unless you go back in time and change the way a brain develops, it cannot be cured. Also autism is not s disease. It's a neurological condition.
