I Am Have High Functioning Autism

I was diagnosed with autism at age 2 I could not talk or verbalize. People didn't think I would function independently at all. I underwent speech and occupational therapies and special education services. Today, I'm telling you I graduated from college and am in the workforce and driving a car. I'm telling you people with autism are people, not just people with disabilities. Treat them with dignity and respect like everyone else. They deserve the same opportunities as others without disabilities. Thank you. April is Autism Awareness Month, let's support our communities affected by ASD.
