Does ADHD medication actually help you?

I mean does it help YOU, particularly, if that's a thing you need.

Recently I've really been thinking how much this might help me to hopefully be
More productive
More organized
More attentive
Less forgetful
Less impulsive
Less distracted

Yep, I found it did,
And helps with my mood and sleep schedule too.

I worry about the effects becoming less effective over time tho,
But I've heard about med breaks for a couple of days to reset the effect.

Still plan on talking to my psychiatrist about breaks

@Fishy that's good to read. I used to take them when I was young but had adverse effects. So now I'm worried about that as an adult

I'd like to get a professional's opinion but that's going to be expensive no doubt

@caPnAhab I had one of those Pharmacogenetics tests done...

so far, it's never been wrong
This was the specific test kit, in case you're interested

@Fishy thanks. This might be helpful

@caPnAhab Actually, now I think about it, I think at first I did have some unwanted side effects,

but after Googling how to manage side effects for my particular meds, I learned that those meds can dehydrate you and also something about depleting magnesium(?)

a few days after taking magnesium supplements and making sure I get electrolytes etc, the side effects went away.

Also, something about having something high protein in the morning, is meant to help too

I'm only speaking for my own experiences, but thought you might also find this helpful too c:
