Why does every second person think they have adhd

Everywhere I go every second person has adhd, if you go on reddit every post is about their adhd. I genuinely don’t believe this many people have broken brains. Some people are animated, spirited, have creative wild minds and are not suppose to be steady, focused, rote or rational. Also I think the younger generation have grown up online and have because of it have withering spans of attention. Really tired of every second person claiming adhd.

I make no such claim and I see very little people who do... Perhaps it's because I'm in a different age bracket?

@Fable there is good and bad, as it's not as acceptable to make fun of people with mental illness, that's good.

@Fable It's not so much about it being popular as it is that mental health awareness is wide spread today compared to when I was a teen. It's a free outlet to cope with one's struggles. That's the most common reason. The second most common reason to why you feel this way is because you also hang around in mental health forums.
