A good day for Desmond usually means he's only keeping himself together 😔

That he's actually not doing too well mentally and rarely truly is. But nothing's triggering him or setting him off to where he's struggling to keep from breaking down. Sometimes I notice it when his issues are getting to him a bit more than usual, as I did when we were having lunch together in the last hour. I can just see it in his eyes and in his demeanor. I get concerned, but I've learned to take his word for it. If he says he's okay, even if it just means he's hanging in there, I leave it at that and don't ask again. It still pains me that he has to struggle every day like he does. Hopefully he gets through the day well enough so I can help him feel better once we're both home.
