She said think of those you'll leave behind, how would they feel.

Isn't it selfish of them to expect me to suffer so they don't have to?

What makes you suffer though? What she did sounds like emotional blackmail to me. Shouldn't she offer you some other way to help with your suffering instead?

What if she had a patient with no relatives or friends? What would her argument be?
