Hearing noises at night

Sometimes, when i wake up, it's because I've heard noise(s). My house is very old and creaks at times. This morning I distinctly heard paper being screwed up twice and became fully awake each time. My partner, who hasn't great hearing, sometimes asks me if I got up during the night, as he heard noises. I wonder if we imagine them as we're half awake?

How long have you lived there. What is the previous history of the house. Maybe someone is considering wiritng to you. Do not be afraid. Does he hear the same things you do ?

@Captain about 5 years. The house dates back to the 15th century. My neighbour said she saw a woman in a grey dress here and when she went home her husband asked if there was someone staying as he saw a lady in a grey dress. There has been a few odd things over the years. My partner won't talk about it as he refuses to discuss ghosts or tell me why.

@meggie Ive had somne pretty haunting experiences. As a graduate for example I shared a rental with 4 other guys in my first year and that place was so spooky. I was the only one open to the spiritual side of life when we went in. I was the only one who dare go in at the end of our rental period. A year later the other 4 of them were all in denial again about how scared they had been. Thats just oine of 100s of big and small tales I could tell, but it amuses me because its a bit like Cosi Fan Tutte. I had one view at the start and 4/5 people are in denial. I demonstrate to them they are wrong to be dismissive and they all suffer for it, but then back thry go to their fools paradises and Im left exactly where I started. So the moral is you will get through this and there is nothing to worry about. Maybe you just need to supply an answer, who you are, why you are there, what happened in the past and why it does not matter any more. Just an idea ot two there. Do keep in touch. I will try to advise.

@Captain i think my partner had some sort of experience and wont talk about it. But sometimes he wakes me up asking if I heard anything. Once we were sleeping separately as I had to get up at 0330 for work and he came into my room and looked very startled and asked me why I was switching the lights on and off. I said i hadn't left my bed since getting in to it. The next day he wouldn't discuss it.

@meggie My experience is if you just think abiout wanting to know what he/she wants they wil find a way of manifesting that to you and if you anc give them an answer to what will usualyy be some sort of question they will go. A tPlymouth I bought my house off a marine who's mother had died their after developing the last stages of cancer. He obviously wanted to sel up and move on. I relaised eventually she was looking for him. One day I as playing my keyboard in the lounge and I fel her presence at the door way. I didn't say anything I just "thought to her 'its no use looking for him, he;s gone and he didnt tell me where he wont be back but I am sure he is happy now'" - and that was that - she never came back. BTW friends and family had all experienced her prescence and asked me about her even though I'd never mentioned her. I have some funny stories about that. But overall, its a sad bitter sweet story isnt it. Most of them are. Be preared for that. Be brave. Help a lost and tortured soul find peace at last, Keep me informed. Love and good luck to both of you. Martin xxx
