Thoughts upon Orson Welles

It's been a hot day today and now in the evening the sky seems to be full to burst, but it won't rain. It never does. Nothing is simple, and that's now the perfect entry point to one of the great genuines of the last century. Orson Welles saw himself sometimes as a victim, but the real feature of genius is the ability to change over. There are numerous examples to be cited from the movies of Welles. Of all the lesser known movies my own favourite is Othello. It was somewhat of a minor miracle that it got made at all. In middle school I had an exam question about Iago. I had thought about the character long and came to a few conclusions, but none of them got me a good grade. So much Orson-like.

A complicated man for sure. I think I’ve only seen Citizen Kane.
@ChampagneOnIce You should see some more. Flashes of genius everywhere. In his movie Othello Iado is played beautifully but Orson as the Moor of Venice himself gives such emotional heaviness, especially when he murders his wife. I've always puzzled why no-one gave him the money to do the movies as he wanted them to be done. More about the greediness of money lenders, I guess.

I remember him shilling Paul Masson wine but my bro insisted I see Citizen Kane and I saw The Magnificent Ambersons in Uni..they say the latter was edited awfully
@bookerdana It's the ending that is too happy. Orson wanted a really down one.
