It’s sad to think that I can’t be friends with your mental health care team outside of a client relationship
It sucks that the mental health care team from adult clinical community services clinician and mental health outreach worker I have are really kind and understanding and I would be friends with them the same way I would have been friends with my case worker from before. It just kills me that knowing these people are only in my life because they are getting paid to help clients through the department of mental health state agency. When I talk to them it’s like talking with friends. I wish I could have met them under different circumstances instead of needing a mental health care team. I also have a therapist and psychiatrist. It’s just sad to think yes they care about their clients, but I can never really be friends with them outside of the client relationship because it would be a conflict of interest. I may be introverted but even an introvert needs a close friend or two. I would rather have one or two deep friendships with people I see on a regular basis than surface level friendships with many people. I feel I am almost an ambivert or a more social introvert. For me all I need are a couple to a few friends with deep meaningful relationships. Also I don’t mind getting to know someone new if I am comfortable with that person but usually they have to do the initiating to hang out. There have been several times where I initiated getting together with one or two people. But I felt comfortable with them beforehand.
