The holidays are upon us. This is a TOUGH time for some, so everyone PLEASE keep an eye out.

Holidays can be fun and joyous, but for some, pain is increased exponentially. It helps to check in with those who might be at risk from depression and other issues. The signs are not always obvious.
Holidays can be depressing when you're alone all year but for a couple of days in November and December you're obligated to pretend you're happy and doing great..

Not this year.. I have talked to family and let those who were interested know that I'm skipping it this year.. no Thanksgiving dinner wich I always make and no Christmas gifts or Christmas eve dinner wich again i always host..
It stopped being fun..
I'm not bothering this year.
A lot of holidays even for those with families/company have changed their meaning to consuming. Then collectively it becomes a competition about who can consume the most and best and therefore can have the happiest holiday. This holiday id rather spend time baking and cooking for family and friends and sharing time together ,not pretending to tolerate others to end up exchanging things we will forget about a week later. I think if we all spend more time opening up and with our loved ones we will create more space for love and compassion for others .

There is a lot of pressure to be happy happy happy and that makes things worse.

@SW-User Yah, I just let that roll off. I think that Christmas is for kids. I feel nothing for it and haven't for a long time.

@uncalled4 I understand that.

Our Queensland state (Australia) has recorded 260 road related deaths this year so far which is far too many.

And the holiday period hasn鈥檛 started yet.

Worst record in a decade.

@scorpiolovedeep I'm sorry to hear that. At least in the US, it's easier than ever to grab a taxi or Uber or Lyft, so no excuses.

Sadly people who aren't under any radar all year are also invisible during the holidays.
Well said... this is my first Christmas without my mother, too...

@HootyTheNightOwl Sorry to hear that. It's the fourth without my dad.

@bijouxbroussard Most likely, I just beat everyone else to the punch. But, it's important to be said.
